As the creator of My Ode to You- I am not only passionate about creating a high quality, unique product- but I am also hugely passionate about building a brand that involves other super-talented St Albans mums who have set up their own businesses. Juggling the balance of having children and a career is TOUGH (most days I wrestle for foot-space in my “office” with a Hungry Hippos game) but with help of a few inspiring local ladies (and of course the support of my amazing family/friends) I have been able to bring My Ode To You to market and am so proud of how far it has come. Please check out the links below for some of the wonderful ladies who helped make it happen. Thanks, Melissa x

The beautiful designs layouts for My Ode To You were created by the super-creative and super-patient Jen Roffe. She specialises in hand drawn typography prints with warm, optimistic words and I have several pieces of her work around the house that never fail to make me smile.  Her prints can be found in several St Albans shops including Raindrops on Roses and her website is Check them out- they really are lovely.

The stunning photography for the website was captured by Michelle Wiggett another local mum with two equally fun boys.  Michelle specialises in wedding, equine and family photography and her style is simply breath-taking. She is such a warm, creative person who is brilliant with children and even more brilliant at making a white picture frame with a white print look exciting! Check out her website at and you may see the me looking slightly less tired than I do now! The eyes in Michelle’s shots get me every time. Just gorgeous.

The website itself was designed by Natalie Lacon,  another St Albans mum who is also extremely patient, professional, and above all super-creative in putting your vision into practice.  It was really important for me to work with someone who really understood My Ode To You as a brand and as soon as I met Natalie- I knew she was the perfect fit. (plus she let me son play with her sons Hot Wheels in our meetings!) She specialises in designing websites for small companies but she is so much more than that; she has gone above and beyond in helping us strengthen my brand and bring it to the public. I’mare sure you’ll agree- she’s pretty clever. Check out her website.

The candles featured in a few of the photographs are from Heartwood Candle Company. I went to meet Laura and Dominique in their St Albans studio and was inspired by their enthusiasm, their creativity and their gorgeous smelling candles! They use 100% natural soy and the finest essential oils to create beautiful products that make a great gift for any occasion.  It is wonderful to see fellow St Alban’s mums building a successful brand that also fits in with family life.
